hi @lelandrichardson ! Unfortunately, Apple's API doesn't support it. Check UIBlurEffect for more details.

Ah. Thanks for letting me know, @Kureev .

I hadn't looked into exactly how you had implemented this. In one of my apps I had created a category for UIImage that dealt with blurring the image (rather than an arbitrary view) and it had a blurRadius that you could tweak.

I don't think it's applicable here, but it would be cool if we could create a wrapper around <Image> that used this API...

Wow, thanks! I'm also not satisfied by the solution Apple provides for this purposes. I thought to re-implement this component or write another one for normal customizable blur effect, but haven't that much time for it. I'll ask my colleagues to take a look on this code (unfortunately, I'm not that good with Obj-C) and will let you know - if everything is OK, I'll try to implement it into component ;) Thanks!

No problem! Just to be transparent, the code above is taken out of an app of mine, but I believe the original code was ripped from a StackOverflow question somewhere along the line. I did some google searching and couldn't find the original question, but I did find several other github projects with the code verbatim... so I guess it's been floating around for a while :)

just so you know guys, this kind of blur isn't dynamic. the one that apple provides is, so if you animate something under the blurred view - you will see the changes
