First of all, thank you for using the plugin!

A little bit of a history: the plugin was developed to help IntelliJ users to be productive in the environments where the majority of the development is done in Eclipse, to avoid manual creation of runtime configurations.

I was thinking about two-way sync previously and decided against it for the following reasons:

  • Eclipse configurations and XML schemas are not well documented, if ever (major reason)
  • There are better tools for sharing run configurations in heterogenous environments (Maven, Gradle, Ant) - talk to your team and see if you can find common ground
  • Majority of the Eclipser users are satisfied with the plugin current functionality

The plugin is open-source, you are welcome to fork it and try if you can work it out.
