if start it from KUAL “start in document” then it can not exit normally. No matter you use the HOME button or the "home" shaped button it just returns to file manager panel, but can't exit

I guess this is the still valid bug that th0mass reported in koreader/kindlepdfviewer#749 - I'd like to have this fixed before announcing the release on mobileread.
Or is this a case of not finding the menu in the file manager? I think I'd like the whole file manager to have the tabbed view, just like the document menu in the viewer. That said, pressing the Home button in the file manager should exit the application.

well, the link you give is "page not found", i guess it's the same bug..
i have to say that it seems to have been fixed in the latest 2 versions of kpdf, then i have the new 0.4.3 kpvbooklet and the new koreader, and it just bumps into me again.

I think @hwhw means koreader/kindlepdfviewer#749.

@th0mass has fired another issue for this bug:
I suspect this to be a bug to our UI framework, I cannot reproduce it in emulator but I can always reproduce it in my KPW.
Usually, when I exit from a document, tapping on the top does not invoke the menu, but after I wait for some time, it works again. There seems to be a certain time of delay in real device.
from koreader.
This bug also exists on the emulator. If you change the directory in the FileManager the HomeMenu will not pop-up any more, which is the same problem on real Kindle.
from koreader.
confirmed. time to rewrite the filechooser...
from koreader.
This solves the problem. Maybe having an icon for the home menu would be a good idea ? Using the text: FileManager as an icon could be enough for this? Could be on the left side, or just one icon that invokes the menu ?
from koreader.
wow, then that's a bug in menu widget ;p
@th0mass , does this fix completely fixes this issue in KT? I can still reproduce the bug that @chrox mentioned above.
EDIT:
as for the icon, well I plan to rewrite the whole filechooser with the new touch menu :)
from koreader.
Actually it does not fix the bug. It only enables us to exit from the app when the home menu is not working. Bug still exists.
from koreader.
before I rewrite the filechooser, I would like to apply this patch if you can help send us a pull request :)
I am busy working on integrating gettext with koreader right now, just finished a demo, really excited!
from koreader.
Issue already solved in latest nightly build koreader. So close it.
from koreader.
I installed Koreader for the first time, on my Kobo Mini, today, and I can't exit it at all. The Home button just restarts it and it goes straight back into File Manager.
That would appear to mean I can't add any more files, or update Koreader with a different version.
I installed the latest nightly build that I could see, which was koreader-kobo-arm-linux-gnueabihf-v2014.04-249-g7a9593d.zip.
I see there's a note saying that USB mass storage mode isn't supported, so unless I can exit it, I would appear to be screwed.
from koreader.
Where should I be seeing the File Manager close button you mention, chrox?
from koreader.
FWIW, taking the back off and pushing something into the reset hole gives the snme result - the Kobo Mini restarts, but it immediately goes back into File Manager. I can't exit it, and i can't add any more files.
I assume the next step involves a screw driver?
from koreader.
how did you launch koreader in kobo? did you launch koreader directly on boot?
