What about using Unirests "header" method and set the content type?
Modified example:

HttpResponse<MyClass> jsonResponse = Unirest.post("http://httpbin.org/post")
  .header("Content-Type", "application/json")
  .asJson<MyClass>();

@kotpal-tangocard The Content-Type it's just a header, so you can take inspiration from @dennisfischer sample code.

NullReferenceException when using this header.
