"dotnet build ." not creating executable file on Mac about opendirectorydownloader HOT 10 CLOSED

It should, at least the releases do, but I heard that it is not marked as executable:

I don't have any knowledge on of it.

The file you linked already has a built executable and works for me, but what I wanted to accomplish was to build it from source.

I understand, that is fine. I don't understand why it does not create an executable.

You can also try dotnet publish. What happens when you do that? (It will be in a subfolder of bin folder)

It just creates another folder within netcoreapp3.1 , with the same files as in netcoreapp3.1 but still no executable file.

You could retry it now .NET 5 is out. No idea if they made improvement for it or anything, but it's worth a shot.

Did you checked it out with .NET 5?

You might also try to run dotnet publish which should generate a release which should make some executable.
