This functionality is now provided by the abstractmethod getDatabaseAtom(). All Parser's must implement this method, ensuring that the parser can always return a DatabaseAtom.
The Parser also has an abstract data property that must be implemented to that returns the data that is read by the parser. This allows a parser to read data anyway that the application sees fit.
