Make sure you are running with tf-nightly at this time. Do you still run into the issue?

@cuge1995 The code should work fine with TensorFlow 2.1 and 2.2. (For instance, in the colab notebook attached to that example)

@fchollet With version 2.3.0-dev20200531, and current version 2.3.0-dev20200610, I can reproduce the error reported here.
Minimal example here (Works with TF2.1 and TF2.2)

I have also ran into the same problem while saving the model using keras.model.save_weights() fn, otherwise my code works fine during the training step

I was able to run the test Colab without any error in Tensorflow version 2.13.
