Jep, can confirm this behaviour.
Step 1: New source file. Generate Partdesign Body. Generate Link to this Body. Save source file.
Step 2: New assembly file. Save file. Add shape from external file.
=> Only the linked body is offered in the list. The body this link is based on is missing.
Drop me a note to provide an example.
