Hi @nils-braun, thanks for the report! Does this prevent you from installing the extension entirely? I don't see why it should be going to github at all, since the package is hosted on npmjs.com . When I install the extension, there is no cloning from github, so I am not sure what is happening at the moment.

Yes, unfortunately is stops after that without installing the extension.
I tried the same thing with another OS (ubuntu 18.04 instead of scientific linux 6, which is basically a el6) and it works. I think the problem is the really old npm version (1.3.6) that is installed on these scientific linux systems...

Ok sorry for the spam. Using a more recent npm version solved the issue.
