You can download the programm source code and build it with xcode by using any name you want to have as target. In addition you can also exchange the program icon. You only have to change the code signing identity under project -> all to don't code sign.

Unfortunately that’s not possible, it uses the name of the application that sent the notification. Like @AidanTale said, the only way to change this is to change the app name, which I didn’t do because I wanted a terminal friendly app name without spaces.
