My understanding is that HTTP.Server takes only one handler function, so I think this line is essentially wrong.

From what I understand, to keep using WebSockets.jl but with HTTP.jl, that last line should instead be (see here:

WebSockets.serve(ServerWS(http_handler(h), ws_handler(w)), port)

though it calls listen rather than serve on HTTP, not sure what's the difference.

I can try a PR later today, is there anything I could test things on? Is there a way to have WebIO working on Julia 0.7 to try this?

EDIT: just seen your PR, nice work! I'll try to see if that PR plus fixing this on Mux is enough.

A separate concern is that we may want to test if this also works (websocket integration) when Mux is serving several pages and have some sort of test for that. In the past few days I found the WebIO + Mux combination on Julia 0.6 to be extremely fragile on the multipage case.
