What is the output of these commands:

using PyPlot
data2 = zeros(UInt8, 4320, 2160);
pcolormesh(data2')

Does it produce also the error that you are seeing?

The error is not related to GeoDatasets, but rather to your PyPlot installation. I would advice you to contact the julia forum at https://discourse.julialang.org/ (or https://stackoverflow.com/ using the julia tag). Maybe some opengl libraries are missing (or incompatible versions are installed). Try to include information such as model of your graphics card, driver version, mesa version, ... when you make a post to the julia forum (or elsewhere).
