The task config is meant to specify all the files that will be run through it, so there is no need for the recursive option.
This is also written to be compatible with grunt 0.4.0 (due out very soon) and that error looks to be due to using grunt 0.3.x.

The plugin was made for 0.4.0rc5 (grunt is now at rc6) and there are significant differences from a to rc5/6.
