I get what you're doing with maximum_stamina but I don't like how complex the API you're exposing is. If you're setting your rate limits to hit bad actors but not normal folks, I'm not sure this is an issue.
That said, I don't think there's anything wrong having multiple projects with multiple opinions (despite what import this may say), so thanks for pointing this out and sharing! And I may steal things like raising my own exception to make handling more flexible. :)
