Gah! Just lost the reply changing the assignment...

You can do this now... solution:"flash" and supplied:"m4v" then use the FLV url in the setMedia m4v property. Done!

I will look at adding the MIME type check though. Your suggestion is sensible and the HTML5 would figure out it cannot play it through the usual checks. So then if you care using Flash as dominant, then you could give an FLV and an M4V for the HTML5 fallback.

Just added this in patch 2.0.13:
New Feature: Added flv and fla support to the supplied formats.

Thank you for the feedback and your contribution to jPlayer.

Hi Mark,

Thanks a lot for adding this feature and for making jPlayer in general. I started using jPlayer a while ago because it made it super easy to play and control playback of MP3 files in the browser. Now it becomes a must for me as my app is generating audio files, pushing them to a server and I want to play them back in the browser. Speex/flv (you call it fla) is the only possible audio format if you don't want to re-encode the files after they are uploaded... unless you buy a license for an mp3 encoder.
