Which shell are you using, and do you have a kubeconfig file available in $HOME/.kube/ ?

bash, yes the file is there.

I think its because i have gnu stat installed on osx.

$ which stat /usr/local/opt/coreutils/libexec/gnubin/stat

maybe you should hard code the path to the system stat if thats what you are expecting? or do some different checking for bsd/gnu stat?
