I was wondering if the ffmpeg version works with desktop ?

if it does then we could use that for desktop.

I'm looking for a good opensource package in C or C ++ with a permissive license to do this. Do you know some?
I'm running away from ffmpeg, but if I find anything like that I can easily use ffi for this task.

I will not use ffi for android or ios, because they already have native tools for that and this plugin basically doesn't add anything of size to them, but for desktop it may be the only way out

Yes i heard ffmpeg is slow on mobiles.

Suggest that might want to look at the pion / ion project. They are implementing web, desktop and mobile using flutter and golang with c++ also. I think that they would be really helpful and many there can help with adding video editing.
