How can this be solved?
Ok, I see that 0.11 solved that problem, however I had to go to 0.10.9 dues to another issue in Android. Is the Android problem OK?

I am also getting
[!] CocoaPods could not find compatible versions for pod "React/Core":
In Podfile:
RNSound (from `../node_modules/react-native-sound`) was resolved to 0.10.11, which depends on
React/Core
None of your spec sources contain a spec satisfying the dependency: `React/Core`.
You have either:
* out-of-date source repos which you can update with `pod repo update` or with `pod install --repo-update`.
* mistyped the name or version.
* not added the source repo that hosts the Podspec to your Podfile.
Note: as of CocoaPods 1.0, `pod repo update` does not happen on `pod install` by default.
Any solution on the horizon?

I have a same issue and my solution is change a little in RNSound.podspec
Currently
s.dependency 'React/Core'
new change
s.dependency 'React-Core'
from react-native-sound-player.
