This has to do with the OpenCL local worksize that can be set via the -w parameter. It defaults to 64 which might not be an ideal value on all platforms. I've revised the code and added a new release that detects this error and abandons the target local worksize and lets the platform decide for itself what it thinks is best.
You can find the new version among the other releases.
I am however afraid that you'll be disappointed with the performance in this program from your 1070. I have two 1070s on my own and when benchmarking I only get ~40 MH/s on them combined. Your RX480s should perform much better with this program.
