The src param is only for specifying your own source files. If any of those files have require('handlebars')` within them, then handlebars will be resolved and packaged by browserify, as appropriate.

The only case I could think of where you'd want to include a node module without referencing it in your own source would be if you were creating a "vendor" bundle. In that case, there'd need to be a new option added for includeModules or something of the sort. (I'd be open to a PR adding this feature!)

Thanks a lot for your prompt answer.
I am probably misusing the tool, I wanted to do several Grunt task for several bundles of code :

  • one for angular and related
  • one for underscore/loadash,
  • one for a group of modules that evolves together
  • and the last for my own modules of code

because they that have different life-cycles, global namespace pollution requirement, and 'compile me again' cycles.

I should probably do several "build.js" files that requires the proper modules and then just reference them from grunt_browserify, but then I will not need any option besides "debug" for the maps.

I fully confess having a hard time setting up a productive environment for a "serious" project in JS :) (trying requirejs was a nightmare ;) ) but I'll get my head around it ;)
