My IT journey

I started my journey in 2017 when I started my apprenticeship as Information Technologist, Federal VET Diploma Specialism ICT System Operation at University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. In 2021 I graduated from my apprenticeship with the Federal VET Diploma and Federal Vocational Baccalaureate. My final apprenticeship exam was the creating of an Emergency Datacenter Switchover POC built ontop of VMware ESXi and HPE 3PAR SAN. I accomplished the implementation by using PowerShell Scripts with VMWare PowerCLI to move the VM between the hosts and manage the sourcehosts shutdown, Posh-SSH to switchover the LUN of the 3PAR and a Website with PHP to trigger the neccessary scripts in order.
After my apprenticeship I briefly worked in a SMB in the role as IT Supporter. I got to know the basics of Microsoft Intune in an hybrid on premise & cloud enviroment.
I started my current job in March 2022 as a Junior System Engineer in a leading engineering, design and planning consultancy in the Swiss construction industry. I quickly gained experience working with the backup solutions Veeam B&R 11 and SEPsesam. My main projects have been planing, testing and implementing a new PRTG server, evaluating and implementing Infoblox DDI and migrating office locations to 1GBit/s with Swisscom.
