@TheJaredWilcurt is right: everyone mentions "Sass" when talking about the language, regardless of the syntax.
It can be really confusing.

I think that proves the point.
From my understanding, that part of the page is meant to explain what the difference is between the two syntaxes and how they are completely compatible. But also to explain that when people use the term "Sass" they are talking about the language and not specifically the syntax that shares the same name.
So in your example, TheSassWay.com shows examples in .scss
more than in .sass
, but...... They're not called "The SCSS Way". So, that's why I say your argument proves the point of the sentence, and does not negate it.
I did not write anything on that page, this is just my interpretation.

At first, I thought it was saying that the most resources have examples in .sass
but we were learning .scss
, maybe lack of interpretation skills, maybe lack of clarity on the text. English is not my native language by the way.
