The line where it claims the error is happening is where it extracts the book contents. I've tried this with a large number of my books, but I can't reproduce this. Can either of you post a link to a book that's causing problems for you?

I could reproduce the issue with this open ebook in epub format --> http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/16328

Looks like a bug in Python 2.7.4. This explains why I never saw it, calibre on Linux doesn't bundle Python and Fedora is still using Python 2.7.3. I'll have to see what calibre does to work around this.
