I don't fully understand what the issue is. Can you provide some more details? I tried editing the metadata of a TV show in the latest master/unstable and it worked fine.

The episode you're referring to is a Special and they may or may not get full metadata depending on the provider, filename etc.

It's not about manually editing the metadata but it doesn't do it automatically. When flipping to 1.6.4 and refreshing the metadata it works just fine so it's not being a special. I did the same thing for those 2 stargate episodes when I was using rc3. There was no metadata being pulled and changing it, flipped to 1.6.4, refreshed the metadata, everything came down properly, went back to rc3.

What is the metadata provider that you are using? We have moved thetvdb to a separate plugin for 10.7, so you might be missing that one.

I have TheTVDB v2.0.0.0 plugin installed but here are my settings
