some pages fail to generate with no error message about jekyll HOT 5 CLOSED

Any sort of debugging information, an example site, something to reproduce this would be nice. This is equivalent to "my computer is broken HELP!!!!!11"

Running jekyll without the --server option doesn't help, either. The same pages are missing.

The site is my public GitHub site: http://github.com/gcnovus/gcnovus.github.com. There's no error information. When I save a file (say, index.html), the log looks like this:

[2009-05-23 09:44:35] regeneration: 1 files changed

But no (additional) files are generated in _site/. In fact, the only files that are being generated are the "categories" listings in blog/ and the stylesheets in css.

Ooh, pushing it to GitHub at least gave me an error:

syntax error on line 1, col 39: `title: English as She is Spoke, Part 2: The Good'

I had a semicolon in the title, which isn't allowed I guess. That actually cleared up all of the my-page-isn't-generating problems! How do I get that information on my development machine?

Now I have a new problem, though: if you click through from the main page to any of the category listings, no posts appear and all the categories now have (0) entries listed. (Plus the navigational style changes, but that's some sort of weird CSS bug that I can't figure out, not a Jekyll problem.)
