My branch named 1 includes a commit that fixes the "type":null case. But only that case. See https://github.com/elemoine/geojson/compare/1.

I fixed the unicode/non-string type in #43. I'm going to track the "Feature"/"FeatureCollection" issue in a different issue since it's a little different #45
