I can't remember from top of my head right now but I remember making a change to do this but then reverted back. I will revisit this in the future when i get some time but for now can your try the inline javascript expression? That should work.

Here's an example of using encodeURI function

{
  "$jason": {
    "head": {
      "title": "url encoding",
      "data": {
        "tokens": "hello world"
      },
      "templates": {
        "body": {
          "sections": [
            {
              "items": [
                {
                  "type": "label",
                  "text": "{{encodeURI(tokens)}}"
                }
              ]
            }
          ]
        }
      }
    }
  }
}

Let me know if that works.

I couldn't get it work. I've just started with Jasonette so maybe I've missed something.
{
"data": {
"myurl": "http://www.example.com/{{$get.field}}"
}
...
"type": "$network.request",
"options": {
"url": "encodeURL(myurl)"
}`

The problem is that myurl is not expanded. I don't know how to do nested expansion.
