Did some research on the values and tried to understand how these are being lived out within the CHAOSS community:
- Sustainability
- Transparency
- Openness
- Diversity, Inclusion & Belongings
Wrote the above values into the CHAOSS Community Handbook on the gitbook platform and proposed to the community
from google-season-of-docs.
Started a thread on the CHAOSS mailing list with a subject line - " Do we follow any community values - context for Community Handbook"
Inputs I got from the members:
We should replace "Sustainability" with "Community Health"
Also, if we are looking through the filter of the SCMS system we are piloting, it defines "social currencies" with our users and community as these:
- Transparency (the level of openness of the way in which we work)
- Consistency (that we are consistent over time with metric and software development and momentum for project improvement)
- Merit (that our community is growing and people have good things to say about our metrics and community)
- Trust (that people feel safe contributing to the community, that we are knowledgeable about our metrics and community health, and that people feel connected to our project on a personal level)
- Utility (that our metrics are useful and actually improve open source community health for projects)
We can directly link up comments that are being made in our various channels to these five things
I definitely agree with having both Community Health, and social currencies added as Value. It would certainly be very helpful.
@Jaskirat Singh, If you want to learn more about SCMS terms and usage, you might want to refer the definitions set for CHAOSS community. (Codex)

Updated the Community Handbook on the GitBook platform after retrieving the inputs and discussions.
