As you can see empty object groups are fine just ones that have objects try to set it to the sprite, just as my original intuition was telling me. Its an easy fix I would bet.

Oh, I see. This is actually intended behavior. Object and Sprite groups inherit their image from the first resource in them. I think this is an option. This may be undesirable behavior if the sprite is blank, so we could factor for that as well.

I have found the setting for this in the preferences file, it is too stupid for me to add to prefs panel and Josh said just remove it, but I will just disable it in the new jar file after some more improvements here. This issue is resolved.

As you can see it does not even load the scripts, corrupts sprites, but kinda keeps the file structure, so in this regard LGM does a better job than the actual software.

If we look at the stable branch, that preference was actually always disabled by default. I still don't see a reason to add it to the preferences frame, there's not enough people dying over it. I don't know how it managed to get turned on in master before I disabled it (probably me just messing around) but in stable it is staying off.
