Need to fill in the language versions for php/python in /worker/reference/environment
Old docs location:
https://sites.google.com/site/ironiodocs/worker/ruby/working-with-gems
Header contain linsk to external resources from WEB project.
Problem: these links will change on every WEB commit that change resources content.
Link example: http://www.iron.io/assets/application-3b1bd90e2a6ded693df68799dcd72a01.css
http://dev.iron.io/worker/start/first-worker/
Broken link to "official libraries" (http://dev.iron.io/worker/code/libraries)
Make a tutorial for /mq/start for getting started using Beanstalkd and IronMQ.
I see no reason why "section" can't be just another category, at the moment. Bears looking into, especially as we work on #44. Would definitely simplify things.
http://dev.iron.io/mq/reference/environment/
Some data missing
http://dev.iron.io/worker/start/first-worker/
Ruby doesn't show up on some of the switchers... then switching at top works. Just need to look into this.
http://dev.iron.io/worker/reference/environment/
Section "Pre-installed Code Libraries (language-specific)"
We have "Ruby Gems Installed" but no corresponding section for php and python
At least php has some modules installed, like GD, mongo.
Full list can be retrieved from build script
The Integrating with Airbrake or Exceptional article is missing content right now. Let's fix that.
With exponential backoff and retries.
Need to inline the content that _posts/2012-02-25-worker-platforms-heroku.md links to in its footer (stuff on docs.iron.io) so we stop linking to docs.iron.io
Need to update AppFog, Heroku, et. al. with links to dev center documentation to replace their old docs.iron.io links.
http://dev.iron.io/mq/start/first-queue/
MQ Code examples are missing
Should go in worker/articles/integrations. Should just explain how to put messages on the queue from worker and pull from the queue on worker. Walking through building an example like the Heroku sinatra app Travis put together would also be cool.
The content on category pages (e.g.: /, /worker, /mq, etc.) could be improved quite a bit. Each needs some time and attention.
In numerous places, Jekyll chokes on HTML formatting. Things like "<br clear="all" />" make Jekyll print a frightening and annoying error message on every compile.
They should be hunted down and eliminated with extreme prejudice.
Bring over the page on AWS security groups and IP ranges for IronWorker over from the Google Docs (also in the Tender docs) as well. (Off of AWS page at top level.)
Write an article for worker integrations on integrating with HipChat.
Need to write up a guide on how to contribute new articles and content to the dev center, along with the preferred contributions workflow.
Need a tutorial in worker/start on how to manage tasks. Get lists of running tasks, cancel tasks, etc.
PagerDuty integration article done. Needs PHP + Python.
We need two new pages:
a page that lists all the tags
a page that takes a tag input and displays all the articles for that tag. If we have to this can be a single page that lists all tags and their respective articles and we can just use an anchor to zip down to that specific tag article list.
Add an article on integrating with Twilio for worker integrations.
The MySQL article in worker needs content.
The Airbrake article still needs Python code samples.
Need to create a tutorial for using scheduled tasks.
http://dev.iron.io/mq/reference/api/
Markup bug:
Need an article on how to integrate workers with Pingdom
Getting Started on AppFog has no content right now.
Getting started on AppHarbor has no content right now.
Need a page on Troubleshooting IronWorker.
Right now, Languages is a category that only links to the Heroku platform article. There are also typos and broken links in what it links to. It's confusing, and I'm not sure what's supposed to go there.
Right now, breadcrumbs handling is pretty dumb. It'd be nice to update it so that we weren't dependent on YAML arrays and could actually do something like:
breadcrumbs:
- slug: /articles
title: "Articles"
- slug: /data
title: "Working With Data & Databases"
/worker/reference needs content.
Right now, the article says "stay tuned for a more complete article." Let's fill in that more complete article.
Examples for IronWorker:
Show how a user can run hundreds of parallel tasks to decrease the clock time.
Just had a customer in the public chat ask about merging workers, and they ended up turning to some of our old docs. Need to get the info from this doc ported. I'd think it would be placed in the getting started on RoR article we have.
Our navigation could be improved. I'm still not happy about how much scrolling is involved.
numpy, scipy, and pymongo have reportedly been added as pre-installed Python modules.
The Airbrake article still needs PHP code samples.
Need to update the Heroku MQ article to use proper syntax highlighting and to correct the docs.iron.io links at the bottom.
The Getting started on MongoDB article needs content.
