Dear @iuriemaxim

Thank you for opening this issue. We have been investigating the implementation of WPS in INSPIRE, and the only reference to this on the Transformation Network Services technical guidance is this line at the summary of the document

So following this, we would say that no WPS is expected to be present on the validator.

However, if you want a follow up on this topic, we would suggest to move the issue to the INSPIRE forums, to discuss with other experts the inclusion of those services on the specification.

@carlospzurita Thank you very much for reply.

Still I am confused a little bit, by looking at the @fabiovin response in https://github.com/inspire-eu-validation/community/issues/362 where WPS is provided as an example of the Invocable SDS.

So, supposing that a data provider have a WPS, than it should create metadata for that service and until 10 December 2021 it should ensure that:

.,, but no test will exist in the validator to test the WPS.

If so, how it is ensured that the requirement that should be met by December 2021 deadline will be met?

Just by checking the metadata of the WPS?

This issue was originally opened in the Validator helpdesk. We moved it here, since it addresses a more general INSPIRE discussion topic and is not Validator-specific.

From #25 :

I have no experience with WPS, but depending on the exact processes it implements, I guess a specific installation could be categorised

Note that the beta instance of OGCs TEAM Engine has an ETS for WPS. If/when the ETS will be ready, it will be moved to the production instance. For questions regarding the ETS, please contact OGC using the information on https://github.com/opengeospatial/ets-wps10.

If there is enough interest, a request could perhaps be submitted to the validator people to add a that test to the INSPIRE validator as well (if I remember correctly, also the WFS test partly or fully uses the OGC TEAM Engine).

And an additional note: OGC is working on new standards, also regarding processes, see https://ogcapi.ogc.org/processes/.

@iuriemaxim

I think that a better answer than what is written in the comments is hard to give at this point. Please note that the Commission would like to hear your view on the INSPIRE Directive, feedback is possible up to and including the 12th of July 2021, see more on https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/better-regulation/have-your-say/initiatives/12427-Sharing-geospatial-data-on-the-environment-evaluation-INSPIRE-Directive-_en. I will therefore close this issue for now (the related #1 is still open).
