I'm not really sure what this is all about. I haven't personally tried to deploy to Heroku, but I've heard from several users who did without trouble. I'll see if I can get someone who's done it to help out.

I'll try again tomorrow - I didn't create a special source branch - just threw the whole thing up there - which was probably the problem. I'll let you know more detail soon.

Ok yeah, I think if you do something like the Github pages instructions on http://octopress.org/docs/deploying it should work out fine. I don't know if there's a way to get Heroku to generate your blog for you, though I'd love to know of a way if you find it.

FYI - I reimplemented octopress to push to heroku, and what I wound up doing was just checking in the public folder to both the repository and heroku.
I tried to use a couple of rake tasks (config_deploy) - but they seemed pretty github specific...

I'm glad you were able to figure it out. I'd love to officially support Heroku and add instructions to the docs. If you can tell me a little more specifically what I need to do, or link me to a gist or something I'd really appreciate it.

I think my "method" is more of a hack - I think if I thought about it a bit more, I could probably update the .gitignore file for pushing a branch to heroku. If I do, I'll post it...

Heh, thanks. If you get around to it, that'd be great :)
