Thank you, I was unaware of this spec. It makes a lot of sense and I'd like to add support for this in an upcoming release. However I don't want to do it immediately because it would potentially force all current users to revalidate their emails (annoying). I have plans to remove email verification, and at that point I would also plan to switch the config file location

I think it should probably go into ~/.local/share, but I'm not sure to be honest.
Also, wouldn't you be able to just check if ~/.bro exists, and if it does, just move it?
