Use --exclude=PATTERN option to tar command as example. PATTERN should support a regular expression so that the user can specify a set of files to exclude which all match the given regular expression. The user should also be able to provide more than one PATTERN.

Perhaps google for example uses of tar --exclude=... to see some patterns to support. We'll likely want to use the C regex support.

We'll then want to filter the bayer_flist appropriately and avoid deleting files that match the pattern(s). This may require matching on the full path or just the file name (unsure).
