That's very strange. Only things I can think of:
- Try restarting vim
- Make sure you have the latest version of snipmate and its dependencies
- Report a bug with @garbas 's snipmate.
Is this happening in both terminal vim and MacVim?
Where is your snippets/ directory?

Reinstalling snipmate + dependencies fixed it. Thanks for your help.
