Does it work if you restart just the CopyQ?
Not sure if related to this bug
I think it is possible that something else is clearing up the clipboard or the copying to clipboard does not work right after desktop environment starts.

2. Close and open CopyQ.
Ah, I missed this. Did you mean that you exited the app (copyq exit
or Exit from menu bar)?

Hello @hluk
Yes, I am exiting the app with copyq exit
.
What happened is that CopyQ greatly improves my workflow so when this #2693 appeared and I notice that closing CopyQ and opening it again kind of solved my problem I created an sh script that closes and opens the program again whenever I log back in from lockscreen. The only downside was that the clipboard was empty after running this script so I tried to create this command to select the first entry to clipboard at start but it didn't work. Theres two sh scripts, one that runs at startup that monitors gdbus-monitor output and whenever I log back in it calls the second:
#!/bin/bash
# Close CopyQ if it's running
if pgrep -x "copyq" > /dev/null; then
echo "Closing CopyQ..."
copyq exit
sleep 2
fi
# Open CopyQ
echo "Opening CopyQ..."
copyq &
Thank you!
