Update: nvm. The instructions indicate a "folder", specifically; and the gradle window is shown in the image on the side opposite of the default, where the project window usually is; so I ended up confusing it with the project window (which shows folders which can be found in the actual file system of the pc in use). The mcp "folder" and the "setup" therein which needs to be run are in the gradle window under tasks (which I failed to notice in the image in the instructions somehow).
