Try deleting your Wineprefix (/home/kender/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt - Complete Edition) and launching the game with Wine-GE (installed using the Wine Manager in Heroic). Proton's logs don't include useful information.

Try deleting your Wineprefix (/home/kender/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt - Complete Edition) and launching the game with Wine-GE (installed using the Wine Manager in Heroic). Proton's logs don't include useful information.

With --launcher-skip (since the launcher is just a black rectangle with latest WINE-GE) and DX11 the log looks like this:

Just some 2c (= there is hope!): it works on my system. I use Proton-GE-Proton8-32 and my settings differ at least here:

  • I turned of esync and fsync
  • no steam runtime or battle eye runtime
  • I don't have cloud saves enabled (my wrapper script uses ludusavi to do something similar and you can safely ignore my wrapper options)

I'm having the same issue. Creating new prefix, changing wine/proton version or choosing alternative .exe doesn't work
