Is this something that should be defined by the 'future' package?
from future.batchjobs.
The question should be rephrased as "exporting futures".
This may or may not work depending on whether a future relies on non-shareable resources or not. For instance, BatchJobs futures uses a registry pointing to an external database file, which therefore can only be shared if on the same file system (and not locked). Also, to query the value of a future might require the original process, cf. lazy future exported to another computer node.
Should there be an exportable()
function/status for Future:s?
