In reviewing the codebase, I see lots of other methods following this
(incorrect) convention: getMarkers,
getMarkerScreenCoordinate, getMarkerCoordinate2D, many others.
A mailing list thread pointed out some other method names that don't follow
convention.
I think the right way to fix this is in a wholesale name convention
refactoring. Revise all the noncompliant names
at once. Get the pain over with and be done with it. Would need to be
done/tested in a branch.
