Sorting would be really important to be able to use this library as a replacement for other grid libraries.

Column sorting is possible since version 0.8.3. Can you try and let me know your thoughts? http://handsontable.com/demo/sorting.html

PS. You cannot use tablesorter plugin because Handsontable's <TABLE> does not contain all rows from the data source - only the visible part. So you need an internal solution that sorts all the rows from the data source. The example here does that: http://handsontable.com/demo/sorting.html
