Try using ruby 1.9.2, There seems to be some issues with 1.8.7. I do all my work and testing on 1.9.2 and everything is working for me with the same versions. RVM can help you install different versions of ruby really easy.
Sorry for the delay, I couldn't figure it out. Everything is working on my test computers. 1.4.9 Will be out sooner or later, but I don't have a solution for rmagick yet.

I am still getting the same error. I also tried installing jasper and then reinstalling rmagick. I am sure this has something to do with how I am installing the rmagick converters , but I do not know what I am doing wrong. Could you walk me thorugh the steps to get rmagick properly installed. I am not an expert in this.

Try using ruby 1.9.2, There seems to be some issues with 1.8.7. I do all my work and testing on 1.9.2 and everything is working for me with the same versions. RVM can help you install different versions of ruby really easy.
Sorry for the delay, I couldn't figure it out. Everything is working on my test computers. 1.4.9 Will be out sooner or later, but I don't have a solution for rmagick yet.
