Oh, actually I just realized that I can 'leave' the the Tavern from it's 'guild page'. That fixed the first issue. So now it only appears under "Regular Chatrooms".
And one more thing, I noticed the second issue happens with parties as well. instead of taking you to the party page, it takes you to (https://habitica.com/#/options/groups/guilds/GROUP-ID). This isn't as much of a problem as it is with the Tavern, since the party is designed to look like a guild anyway. That's not the case with the Tavern though...

Once we fix that one and remove all the Tavern "guild" members, this chat extension issue might no longer be relevant, although I'm not necessarily saying that this issue shouldn't exist. @Racobot thanks for reporting, and adding the workaround!

It's definitely an API problem, not a chat extension problem, but I'll leave this open till we've fixed the API.
