The button to draft the deprecation plan email is located in the "API Owners" review column non-modal dialog.

Steps:

  1. Make sure that you are signed in using one of the accounts listed in the "Owners" section of the feature entry. In this case, [email protected] or [email protected].
  2. Navigate to your feature, and open the "Write up deprecation plan" accordion section (it should be open by default).
  3. Then click the "API Owners" review gate chip, which will open up the review column non-modal dialog.
  4. Then click the "Draft intent to Deprecate and Remove email" at the top of the column.
  5. You will see a dialog reminding you to also request reviews from the cross-functional teams Enterprise, Debuggability, and Testing. You can proceed through that dialog immediately if you like, but it is likely that the API Owners will not approve your intent until you at least have those reviews started.
  6. The draft intent is shown in a new tab on this page: https://chromestatus.com/admin/features/launch/5100528783851520/1/5076768018137088?intent=1

I just realized that the intent preview page is offering you the wrong email subject line. It should be

Subject: Intent to Deprecate and Remove: Media Previews opt-out.

I'll fix that bug.

Thank you. I found that flow by trying to click on the "API Owners" chip. But the subject line was wrong so it threw me off. The email generated is missing a ton of info from the form, like the motivation section. I guess I can paste that into the email thread if the owners ask for it.
