I think the best solution for this would be to disable recursive imports of the examples. It would be great if there was an annotation that could do that (I haven't found one yet), and barring that, we could try moving them out of the plugins directory.

I found this easy to reproduce, so I'll experiment with some other directory organizations.

Another option that might work would be to use something like // +build example and update the Makefiles/etc. to run go test -tags example.

I found this easy to reproduce, so I'll experiment with some other directory organizations.
