Nice find :) Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Apple, Intel, Mozilla have all released libre fonts now. I guess we're now waiting for Amazon, HP, IBM :)

The RFN permission for this is in place. @RosaWagner since you are working on the github fonts, would be good to work on this and Cascadia Code too (I'm starting the RFN process for that)

This will require funding to bring the sources and build chain for a VF into alignment and so on, so punting to Q1; keeping @aaronbell assigned until the funding aspect is worked out.
