Agreed. I think the ideal solution is that Sizzle (or ideally something a lot more lightweight) should be injected in a closure on every assertion. What do you think?

I'm not sure about every assertion, but as a first step you should
provide a public injection function, which can be triggered manually
when needed. Sth like this:

        var sizzleInjected = yield this.driver.executeScript(function() {
          return window['Sizzle'];
        });
        if (!sizzleInjected) {
          var sizzleCode = fs.readFileSync(require.resolve('sizzle'),
              {encoding: 'utf8'});
          yield this.driver.executeScript(sizzleCode);
        }

Ah, totally. Also seems like that would be a good temporary stopgap for the issue you're having.

For now, you can do this:

chaiWebdriver.injectSizzle(driver);

... to re-inject sizzle into the current document. It's a stopgap, but should be helpful.
