democracy.js's Issues

Is possible auto Discovery new peers in the network

Is possible add new peers to the cluster only defining common port number and maybe using udp broadcast?.

Running different nodejs instances inside of docker containers but in the same virtual network.

Gracefully close

Hi @goldfire,

I have been trying to write a Jest test around my democracy module and am having issues due to democracy leaving open handles.

I tried dem.socket.close() however due to heart beats etc it causes errors.

I've looked through the code and can't see any close, stop, or disconnect methods.

Do you have any suggestions?

This is a great package by the way. I wrote my own master/slave dgram modules before discovering democracy. Mine worked well however the master was static. This package with its election process is a far better solution.

Thanks for making this public.

Protocol documentation

Hi, I'm trying to port the code on C++ in a (just started) effort to port (at least partially) the awesome room-assistant to a ESP32, which is using democracy.js as a core component.

I've just started reverse engineering the code, but a protocol documentation or a flow diagram could be very useful,
Is there any of that available?

Thanks in advance

retrieve peer IP

Hi,

is there a way to get the peer's IP from dem.nodes() ?

thanks.
