@quasilyte, it means that our sincere desire is to bring the moment of techonological singularity a little bit closer through helping Go programmers write pure code. And it's sounds cool and catchy in my humble opinion.
(how can i be more serious :D)

That one is also an option, but I like the irony part of critique-based name.
Some of our checks may be annoying for some people as we have some opinion-based checks. :)

@quasilyte, how about "Infrared October" as organization name?

quasilyte avatar quasilyte commented on May 25, 2024

@weeellz can you explain what "Infrared October" is? :)

@weeellz, we can collect multiple options and then do a final choice collectively.
Even better, final decision should be made with on-site meeting, so we can discuss it interactively.

What about going with something simple, like multilint?
Organization and repo can be called like go-multilint.

Google search golang go-multilint gives very few results, so if this linter ever becomes popular, it would be easy to find it.

We're building a linter that includes various checks that are not very related to each other, so multi describes this pretty precisely.
For example, we have a go-lint that mostly does style checks. We also do some performance analysis, so we're go-multilint.

The logo can emphasize on this "doing many things at a time" theme.
For example, a gopher with a lots of tools on it's arms and belts.

Hm...or even simpler: adviser, go-adviser.
Or we can be unique and don't collide with other names: advicer, go-advicer
(yeah, a small reference to https://github.com/cristaloleg/go-advices 😂 )

We still need project logo. It will be used as org image as well as included in README.
Everyone who has ideas can share them here.

Most Go projects have gophers in their logo, for example: https://github.com/go-gophers.
