GDLDE was updated to use Java JRE version 11 or higher. Actually, Java JRE is bundled with GDLDE but it seems the binary somehow cannot pick the right one. I guess environment variables (e.g., JAVA_HOME, etc.) would cause the problem.

I upgraded wth JRE Version 11 but the workbench log reported that Version
17 or higher is needed. I installed version 17 and Workbench came up fine.

Related Issues (20)
- "create_struct" differs from IDL when the tag name is not a tag name ! HOT 1
- "wdelete" deletes window but does not "free the handle" when window was created with "/free" keyword HOT 1
- incomplete format c() (julian date)
- our LABEL_DATE is broken HOT 2
- GDL accepts HASH() with odd number of elements !
- Cannot open window, PLPLOT ERROR HOT 4
- keyword /nozero in several functions + useless code ! HOT 1
- HDF4, NETCDF clash – mainly a heads up for Arch/Manjaro (etc.) users.
- GDL don't detect multiple uses of the same keyword when calling pro or function HOT 1
- compilation issues on Debian HOT 5
- compilation segfaults sometimes HOT 6
- write_jpeg and write_png produce black images on !version.release 8.2 HOT 4
- test_elmhes and test_formats fail on non-x86_64 HOT 14
- shmmap causes linux to reboot if gdl was not started with cpu,tpool_nthreads=1 HOT 2
- lots of plplot error messages when ploting after special "window" sequence HOT 3
- Problem with PRTARR() (was : pb with FITS Binary tables) HOT 9
- plot of array with only NaN hangs session HOT 3
- Possible duplicate: test_byte_conversion.pro and test_bytscl.pro fail on arm64
- interpol returns float result for complex input data HOT 1
